I woke up this morning with a terrible headache.
Admittedly I am not be best person when it comes to drinking the recommended 2 litres of water a day. I still have a sweet tooth and am more inclined to drink freshly squeezed lemonade or my fav at the moment is raspberry sparkling lemonade which I was pleased to find out is only made with raspberries and sparkling water. So going back to my headache, I assumed I must be dehydrated (hence the headache) so I opted to make a smoothie specifically for dehydration.

I used much more reliable sweet frozen pineapple and fresh mint as the predominant flavours and added coconut water to further enhance the hydration benefits also with chopped cucumber. I added a generous helping of baby spinach and pea protein for all the greens power. Finally adding hemp seeds which is really good source of protein and a little ginger which is excellent to reduce inflammation.

INGREDIENTS
1 cup raw coconut water
½ cup filtered water
1½ cups frozen pineapple cubes
1 cup chopped cucumber
large handful baby spinach
small handful fresh mint leaves
1 tablespoon of pea protein
1 tablespoon hemp seeds
pinch ground ginger (or freshly grated ginger)
INSTRUCTIONS
Add all ingredients to the blender and blend on high for 30 seconds or until very smooth.
